ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN 1
OVERALL REFLECTION
At first, I believed that Architectural Design 1 would instruct us on how to design or build a house for the client, but as I dug deeper, I realised that not everything we learn needs to begin with the big things; sometimes, the small things are the main key for you to develop your creative and design thinking perspective, as everything begins small and then gradually expands to the big. I wasn't quite sure why we had to build models based on ordering rules and elements for the first assignment because I felt like we should be making something on the spot or in accordance with the needs of the client. After some lectures and tutorials, I finally understood that these principles and elements are the basis for all architecture and design. As a result, I began to pay more attention to them so that my building would be constructed using these crucial concepts and aspects.

Following that, I believe that I learned the most from my second assignment, the bamboo project, as it involved a group of 20 people. The sad thing is that me and my group members lack communication skills, which had caused our project to be slower than other people's and the outcome is not as nice as other people due to low effective progress. As a result, we need a very good leadership person to lead us to complete this project, or all of us should communicate among ourselves to complete this project nice and smoothly. In the end, though, we are able to finish the structure, and as we begin to consider what issues are causing us to behave in this way, we realise that it is our communication skills. At that point, I realised there was not much time for us to gradually improve it; instead, we must become proficient in this skill as soon as possible so that in the future whenever there is a group project, we will not suffer as much as we did now.

In addition, I must re-examine and re-explore my 1:1 bamboo structure based on the activity and function "SAFEKEEPING" for my final project in order to construct sensory spaces and a story with it. This assignment is meant to help us learn more about the space and sensory of the human. I was initially a little stressed out because I didn't know what I could safekeep in my model, but after getting some feedback from my tutor and listening to the professional lecture, I started to slowly come up with ideas for how to design my model and the story that I wanted to tell other people based on the word "SAFEKEEP."

By the end of the semester, I felt like I had experienced a lot, based on the assignments, tutorials, and other events. I believe that whenever you feel lost, you should just keep moving continuously because if you stop, you'll never know how to proceed with your next move. However, I am appreciative of my many supportive friends who always support or mentor me as I complete my assignments.
